New dent resistant wheels

So these are my new old wheels for the bike. They are replacing the slightly dented-no-longer-round land interfaces that I had before. I think it does help that they’re black.

Interestingly enough, these wheels are from a K1200LT. This generation of K bikes have a lot of common parts. As long as you stay in or around the same model year things are great. On difference I was seeking is a thicker wheel casting for more durability. The rear wheel is the same, and is easy to verify. The front however is noticibly thicker.

The silver wheel is the stock bent rim. Note the dish on the rim lip. The black rim doesn’t have the dish – it is full thickness. The rim is substantial, and I am happy about that. There is a little more unsprung weight (2.5 lbs) however that is a small price for what I think will be a bit more damage resistance.
